His international exposure includes his tenure as a foreign associate at Sabharwal & Finkel LLC, New York, where he worked as part of the litigation team, and as a foreign qualified associate in the Project Finance Practice at White & Case LLP, New York.
In his international roles, Advocate Ajay was involved in high-stakes cross-border transactions and legal advisory work, particularly in project finance. He has acted as international counsel on U.S.-based deals involving foreign direct investments into Indian companies by U.S. and European corporate groups. His experience spans across various aspects of international finance, mergers, and structuring of investment vehicles. These roles honed his expertise in managing complex legal, financial, and regulatory frameworks, allowing him to seamlessly advise clients on cross-border transactions and compliance requirements. Upon returning to India, he joined the Banking and Finance Group at Luthra & Luthra in 2008, where he worked on some of the country’s leading financing deals across sectors such as power, oil and gas, infrastructure, and healthcare.
Since 2014, Advocate Ajay Sondhi has been serving as a Partner at Sondhi Narula Dalal & Associates, where he leads the Banking and Finance and Litigation (Property and Criminal) divisions.
